What to Expect

Treatments begin with a thorough intake interview about all aspects of your health condition.  Your practitioner will then feel your pulse and look at your tongue.

If receiving acupuncture: appropriate acupuncture points will be chosen to treat your condition.  Common point locations are generally bellow the elbows and knees or on the back.  The points are then swabbed with alcohol.  You will relax on a massage table while the needles are inserted and retained for about 30 minutes.  The total appointment time is about one hour.

If receiving herbal consultation: a customized formula will be written and prepared for you.  Herbal consultations generally take a total of 30 minutes.

How to prepare:

  • Wear loose comfortable clothing
  • Eat something the day of your visit
  • Do not brush your tongue, eat or drink highly colored foods (cherry candy, orange soda, etc.) the day of your appointment
  • In consideration of chemically sensitive patients, please do not wear perfume, cologne, or heavily scented personal care items
  • Bring a list of all medications you are currently taking.
